K.K. Mustafah, senior special news photographer of The Hindu, has bagged the prestigious Professional Photographer of the Year award instituted by the Photo Division, under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a memento and a certificate of appreciation.
He joined The Hindu, newspaper in 1995.
Mr. Mustafah was chosen for the award by an expert committee for a series of 15 news photographs on Tamil Nadu’s knitwear and weaving hub Tirupur.
Presently working with the Palakkad news bureau of The Hindu , Mr. Mustafah’s work focusses on agriculture and rural life.
