Prabhat Kamal Bezboruah and M S Boje Gowda were appointed chairmen of the Tea Board and the Coffee Board, respectively.
Bezboruah is a leading tea association industrialist and Gowda is a renowned coffee grower.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved their appointments.
Bezboruah’s tenure will run till November 1, 2018 and Gowda will be in the post till December 14, 2018.
The Kolkata-based Tea Board of India is largely entrusted with regulating tea cultivation and export of tea.
The Coffee Board, based in Bengaluru, looks after the interests of the country’s coffee growers.
