Bhadla Solar Power Project Commissioned

Public sector undertaking NTPC  has commissioned the 115 MW of Bhadla Solar Power Project. The project increased the NTPC’s solar capacity to 475 MW.

Now, NTPC’s total installed capacity has gone up to 48,143 MW with the addition of 115 MW of Bhadla Solar Power Project.

The company has a capacity of over 23,000 MW under implementation at 23 locations across the country, including 4,300-MW being undertaken by joint venture and subsidiary companies.

First wind power project of NTPC – Rojmal Wind Energy Project with a 50-MW capacity is being set up in Gujarat.

NTPC is committed to setting up 10,000 MW of renewable energy projects by 2022.

The company has 19 coal-based, 7 gas-based, 10 solar PV, one hydro and 9 subsidiaries and joint venture power stations.

NTPC Limited (previously known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) is an Indian PSU Public Sector Undertaking, engaged in the business of generation of electricity and allied activities.

It was founded by Government of India in 1975, which now holds 69.74% of its equity shares.

In May 2010, NTPC was conferred Maharatna status by the Union Government of India.
