A Delhi government school at the President’s Estate was declared as the capital’s first Solar Powered Green School.
Dr Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya will generate the electricity required to function it on its own using solar power panels and green technologies.
President Pranab Mukherjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia attended the event which was organised at the Presidential Estate.
The school children performed programmes, street plays and showcased science and painting models on the occasion.
Dr Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya is Delhi government’s first school which has been declared as Solar Powered Green School.
