On the occasion of “International Day of Monuments and Sites”, on April 18, 2022, The Department of Posts released a pack of Picture Post Cards on “Architectural Icons of Goa” alongwith Special cancellation. The release done online simultaneously in the hands of Ms. Veena Srinivas, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai and Ms. Swati Pandey, Postmaster General, Goa Region, Panaji and Shri. Narasimha Swamy, Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices, Goa Division Panaji, in presence of Prof. Dr. Bernard Rodrigues, President, Goa Philatelic and Numismatic Society, Goa. The society members and other officers/officials of the Postal department were present for the realease online at Conference Hall, Tapal Bhavan, Panaji.
The design of Special cancellation on “International Day of Monuments and Sites”depicts the typicals traditional portuguese style window. The Postcard pack contains 04 Postcards on namely 1. Margao Municipality Building; 2. Panaji Old Secretariat (Adilshahi Palace); 3. Fernandes Heritage Home; and 4. Braganza Mansion. This pack of Picture Post Card will be available for sale @ Rs.90/- each at Panaji Head Post Office.
