Department of Sports undertaking Special Campaign 3.0 in full swing for cleanliness campaigns and disposal of pending matters

The Department of Sports along with the organizations under it which includes Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), National Sports University (NSU), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) is implementing the Special Campaign 3.0 with the specific aim of institutionalizing Swachhata and minimizing pendency. During the campaign special focus is being given to field offices. The implementation Phase of Special Campaign 3.0 began on 2nd October 2023 and will continue till 31st October 2023.

During the preparatory phase from September 15th to 30thSeptember 2023, officers were sensitized, ground staff mobilized, pendencies identified, campaign sites finalized. Regular meetings were with the organizations under the Department wherein proposed cleanliness activities, targets, possible best practices were discussed and finalized. PIB Statement and tweets were also issued during this phase.

The organizations under the Department has conducted 18 cleanliness drives during 1st week of Special Campaign across the country and same has been given wide publicity on social media. Around 24 tweets have been posted in the social media in this regard by this Department and organizations under it. Other parameters for reducing pendency are also being reviewed regularly in the Department. The SCPDM portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is regularly being updated with the latest status. With well-defined goals and monitoring mechanisms in place, the Department is making concerted efforts to successfully meet the objectives of the Special Campaign 3.0.

Further Department of Sports and organizations under it organised nationwide events for the ‘Swachhta  Hi Seva’ (SHS) Campaign from 15th September to 01st  October, 2023. The main event was held on 01st October, 2023 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. It was graced by Shri Nisith Pramanik, Minister of State, Youth Affairs and Sports, Secretary (Sports) and other senior officers of the Department and SAI. On the occasion, Secretary (Sports) administered the Swachhta pledge to all officials, sport persons etc to contribute towards a clean and garbage-free India. Thereafter, cleanliness activities were carried out.  The Department also launched the FIT India Swachhta Freedom Run 4.0, which saw participation of various sportspersons and officers/officials of the Department. A total 114 events were organized by the organizations under the Department throughout the Country to celebrate ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ (SHS) Campaign on 1st October 2023 through ‘Shramdaan’.
