Justice Leila Seth, the first woman judge of the Delhi High Court, died at the age of 86 recently.
Born in 1930 in Lucknow, Ms Seth had many accomplishments to her name.
In 1958, she became the first woman to top the London Bar examinations.
The very next year, she graduated as an officer of the Indian Administrative Services.
Not only did she become the first female judge of the Delhi High Court, but she also became the first woman Chief Justice of a state High Court in 1991.
She retired as Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh in 1992.
Ms Seth is also the mother of bestselling author Vikram Seth.
