G20 Women-led development: Women cooperative sector focused awareness cum training programme conducted on “Empowerment of Women and Women Nutrition” in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh

India’s apex institute Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, conducted a half-day awareness cum training programme on “Empowerment of programme and Women Nutrition” in collaboration with Laxmi Bai Mahila Nagari Sahakari Bank at Galwor, Madhya Pradesh as on 10th February 202

G20-Theme-based programme for women cooperative bank members and farmers was organized by Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune, Maharashtra at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

This programme was designed under G20 theme of Women-led development under the guidance of Dr. Hema Yadav, Director, VAMNICOM, Pune. The objective of programme was to conduct a G20 theme-based programme for women in cooperative sector. VAMNICOM has teamed up with Laxmi Bai Mahila Nagari Sahakari Bank in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Since 1960 this Sahakari bank is working.  Smt. Alka Shrivastava (Founding President) of Laxmi Bai Mahila bank has showed her keen interest to the conducting a programme.

In the programme, 150 women participated from different parts of Gwalior city. The chief guest was Smt. Maya Singh (Ex-Minister, and MP) and the special invitee were Smt. Meena Mudha (Women’s health expert).

Smt. Maya Singh expressed her views about women’s empowerment and women’s role in society development. Smt.Meena Mudha mentioned in her speech about iron, calcium and different kind anaemia. 

Dr. Pallavi Ingale (VAMNICOM, Pune) has introduced the G20 theme of women-led development and a brief programme agenda. The contribution of Laxmi Bai Mahila cooperative bank to support women was explained by Smt. Alka Srivastav.  Dr. Amit Mudgal (ICM, Bhopal) has described the meaning of women farmers and shared the different government schemes.

Dr. Priyadarshni Srivatava gave emphasis on the nutrition of teenager age and women. She explained the meaning of nutrition and the importance of nutrition in different phases of the life of women. Women’s health and challenges faced by women are shared by Dr. Veena Pardhan. Smt. Anjali Batra has given many examples of successful women entrepreneurs to motivate women. She gave insight into how to identify an opportunity and talent for business.  

This programme got an overvaluing acknowledgment. Women have expressed interest to know more about business and nutrition.
