Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant Reviews Venue Preparedness Ahead of 37th National Games Goa

A high-level delegation led by the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant and Goa Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Govind Gaude, converged at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (SPM) Indoor Stadium, Goa, to conduct a comprehensive review of preparedness and the action plan ahead of the 37th National Games Goa.

The Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium is slated to host three high-profile events during the 37th National Games Goa: Badminton from October 20th to October 24th, Fencing from October 26th to October 30th, and Volleyball from November 1st to November 5th.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed his confidence in the preparedness, saying, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every person for their relentless efforts in ensuring the readiness of the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium. It is well-positioned to play a significant role in ensuring the resounding success of the 37th National Games Goa 2023.”

The forthcoming 37th National Games Goa are set to be a momentous occasion for athletes and sports enthusiasts across the nation. The comprehensive review taken today a testament to the commitment of the government and the organizing committee to making these games a resounding success.

Also present during the review were Goa Chief Secretary Shri Puneet Kumar Goel, Goa Director General of Police Shri. Jaspal Singh, Secretary (Sports) & CEO, National Games Organising Committee (NGOC), Smt. Swetika Sachan, Dr. Geeta S Nagvenkar, Jt. CEO, NGOC and Executive Director, Sports Authority of Goa, along with Shri Amitabh Sharma, the Chairman of National Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC) and Executive Member of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and senior officers from the Government of Goa.

About National Games:

The 37th National Games Goa 2023 is a prestigious sporting event aimed at promoting sportsmanship and unity across India. It will feature 43 sports disciplines and over 10,000+ athletes from 28 Indian States, eight Union Territories and Services. The event will take place from October 26th to November 9th, 2023, at 28 venues across the state of Goa, India.
