Goa Postal Division released a Special Cancellation to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas at the hands of CDR. GPS Bajwa (Retd.) Indian Navy, and Shri Ramesh P. Patil, Director, Postal Services (Goa Region), Panaji, at a function held at Panaji Head Post Office on Friday, 26 July, 2024.
CDR. GPS Bajwa (Retd.), in his speech, highlighted the important role played by the Indian Navy in Kargil War and also shared his views and experience during the war.
Shri. S.V.L.N. Rao, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Goa Division, Panaji; Shri Sanjay Desai, Assistant Director, Postal Service-l, Goa Region, Panajl; Dr. M.R. Ramesh Kumar, Retired Scientist, National Institute of Oceanography, Goa; and staff of the Postal department were present at the release function.
Dr. M.R. Ramesh Kumar, who is also a philatelist, has put up a one-frame exhibition of stamps on the 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas and a four-frame exhibition on the theme ‘A Philatelic Journey into the World of Olympics’ at Panaji Philately Bureau, Opposite Panaji Head Post Office.
The philately exhibition will remain open for the public till 11.08.2024.
