40 Agriculture Produce Market Committee’s (APMC’s) of Gujarat were linked to e-National Agriculture Market (e-NAM).
This is one initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which will help eliminate middleman and farmers can procure good price of their produce.
Under the e-NAM scheme launched by the Prime Minister on April 14, 240 APMC’s of the country were to be linked through this portal.
e-NAM is a pan-India electronic trading portal which networks the existing APMC’s to create a unified national market for agriculture commodities.
The NAM portal provides a single window service for all APMC related information and services. This includes commodity arrivals and prices, buy and sell trade offers, provision to respond to trade offers, among other services.
