ICAR-CCARI celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada

Swachhta Pakhwada was celebrated at ICAR-CCARI, Goa, from 16th to 31st December 2021 for creating awareness regarding cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation amongst farmers and society as per the central guidelines. Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, inaugurated the Swachhata Pakhwada and all the staff members took Swachhta Pledge.

The Institute organized various events, cleanliness and sanitation drives, training programmes on vermicomposting in different villages of Goa such as Parra, Priol, Karmali, Ozarim, Moita villages for creating awareness on cleanliness. A silent Swachhta Awareness Procession (Rally) was also organized by the Institute at Old Goa Church and Gandhi circle, witnessed by around 2000 people, including street vendors, shopkeepers, shoppers, villagers, children and tourists. Various sections of the society such as village communities, village panchayat Sarpanch, School Principal, farmers, rural women, youth, students were involved in this Swachhta Pakhwada.

Apart from these activities, webinar on swachhata and health, drawing competition for school children, visit to eco-friendly Sewage Water Treatment Plant were also organized.
