Rupesh Kumar, who represents GAIL (India) Ltd. which is one of the main partners for the film, said that the 12 films explore a diverse range of topics such as animal abuse, deforestation, extreme impact on climate, habitat destruction of animals, species extinction and marine life pollution.
Manabendu Rath, one of the producers of the film, said that the attempt was to convey one singular unequivocal message on climate change so that it reaches maximum number of people.
Out of 12 short stories, India is represented by Elephant in the Room by Nila Madhab Panda. The film-maker makes an appeal to humanity to preserve forests and biodiversity.
Protique Mojoomdar, the production consultant of the film said, The Elephant in the Room narrates the story of human-animal interaction through the eyes of little children from a small village in the forests of Wayanad in Kerala in Southern India. Growing up with these elephants, the children develop a special bond with the pachyderms and make a unique appeal on how to resolve human – wild animal conflict while preserving forests and biodiversity.
