India secures 2 Silver, 1 Bronze & 1 Honourable Mention at EGMO2023

India has performed exceptionally well at the 12th European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO2023) and secured two silver, one bronze and one honourable mention. The Olympiad was held in Portorož, Slovenia, from April 13 to 19, 2023. This is the third time since 2015 that India could send a team of four girls (the maximum possible strength of a team) to EGMO.

The training and selection program of the Indian team to EGMO is funded by National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The team is returning to Mumbai in the early hours of Thursday, April 20, 2023. A meeting will be held at 11:30 AM on April 20, 2023 in Room G2, Main Building, HBCSE to felicitate the team.

This is the first time since 2015 (India’s debut year) that two members of the Indian team won Silver medals. The first Silver medal came in 2019 and the second one in 2021. For more on India’s past performance click here.
