Former IAS officer J Satyanarayana was appointed as part-time chairperson of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), tasked with issuing Aadhaar numbers.
The post has been lying vacant following resignation of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani’s resignation in 2014.
Besides him, technocrats Rajesh Jain and Anand Deshpande have been appointed as part-time members of the UIDAI.
Jain is founder and Managing Director of netCORE solutions, an Information Technology based firm. Deshpande is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Persistent Systems, a global company specialising in software product development services.
