Joe Root has been named as new Test captain of England.
The 26-year-old had been vice-captain under his predecessor, Alastair Cook, since May 2015 and had his promotion confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Root becomes the 80th man to hold the position and the 10th from Yorkshire.
