Konkan Vijay 2026 – Open Sea sailing expedition flagged off by NCC Directorate Maharashtra

NCC Directorate Maharashtra flagged off the Open Sea Sailing Expedition “Konkan Vijay 2026” undertaken by The Most Enterprising Naval Unit (MENU) of the Directorate. The expedition embodies the spirit of “Swaccha, Sundar & Samriddha Konkan.” Over the next 10 days, 60 Naval NCC Cadets of Maharashtra Directorate will sail 127 nautical miles along the formidable & scenic Konkan coastline. The expedition will make port calls at Ranpar, Ambolgad, Purnagad, Dhaulwali, and Vijaydurg. Supported by the Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command and the Indian Coast Guard, the voyage aims to foster seamanship, teamwork, adventure spirit, and coastal environmental awareness among young cadets.

The expedition was flagged off by Brigadier RK Paithankar, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters Kolhapur, in the presence of Capt(IN) Jenish George, Director, NCC Directorate Maharashtra, Commandant Shailesh Gupta, Commanding Officer Indian Coast Guard Station Ratnagiri, Shri Nitin Bagate, IPS Superintendent of Police, Ratnagiri & Shri Sundeep Krishna, IRS Assistant Superintendent, Customs. Brigadier Paithankar commended the cadets for their enthusiasm and dedication, highlighting that such expeditions not only build maritime skills but also instill discipline, resilience, and a deep sense of national pride.

The “Konkan Vijay 2026” expedition stands as a testament to the NCC’s commitment towards promoting Swaccha (Clean), Sundar (Beautiful), and Samriddha (Prosperous) coastal regions while nurturing India’s future maritime leaders.
