Veteran bollywood music director Uttam Singh has been named for this year’s “Lata Mangeshkar Award for Lifetime Achievement” by Maharashtra government.
The award carries a citation, a trophy and Rs 500,000 in cash.
The Maharashtra government instituted the coveted award in honour of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar in 1992.
Singh gave music in several films such as “Dil To Paagal Hai”, “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha”, “Hero – Love Story of A Spy”, “Pinjar”, “Baghban”, “Dushman”, “Farz”, “Hum Tumpe Marte Hain”, “Pyar Diwana Hota Hai”, “Rajjo”, “Honour Killing”, “Ho Jata Hai Pyar”, “Jazbaat” etc.
