The Madhya Pradesh Assembly passed the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Amendment Bill.
State’s Law Minister Rampal Singh moved the GST Constitution Amendment Bill in the house for the approval.
Finance Minister Jayant Mallaiya said Madhya Pradesh will benefit from the GST as it is basically a consumer state.
He further said that the GST will simplify the tax structure across the country and bring transparency in the tax system.
Madhya Pradesh became the seventh state to ratify the GST Amendment Bill after Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
