The Maharashtra Government has decided to scrap five types of Home Department licenses, which were required by the Hospitality industry.
They were cancelled under the programme of Ease of Doing Business by the Maharashtra Government.
According to a press statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, hoteliers, restaurants owners will no longer require food registration certificate, swimming pool permit and three types of public performance and entertainment licenses.
The industry had long demanded cancelling of these licenses as it was regarded as a major hindrance in doing smooth business and a major conduit for corruption.
