Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched Rozgar Mela today. The initiative aims to recruit 10 lakh new candidates over the next year into various Central Government Departments. In the ceremony today, 75000 appointment letters were handed over to new recruits across the country Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik presented appointment letters to candidates from Goa region under first tranche of Rozgar Mela recruitments.
From the Goa region 266 candidates are being recruited to various Central Government posts. 141 candidates were present at the event in Panaji, where 25 were presented their certificates by the Union Minister of State. Out of the 266 recruits, 204 recruitments are by Department of Posts, Government of India, whereas the rest are distributed among various other departments.
Speaking at the event in Goa, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways Shripad Yesso Naik congratulated all new recruits who received their appointment letters today. The Minister described how an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and employment generation was created through various initiatives of the Central Government. He stated that these measures will have a multiplier effect on the economy and the country. While assuring that the Government will complete its stated goal of 10 lakh recruitments in a time bound manner, Shripad Naik explained how measures such as reducing the total number of examinations, simplifying document validation and leveraging technology to conduct recruitments have compressed the overall timeline of Govt. recruitments in the country.
Post Master General of Goa region Sayeed Rashid took the opportunity to present the dignitaries present with ‘Philatelic Passports’ and ‘My Stamps’. Addressing the gathering he congratulated all appointees and wished that their lives would be lit up by the appointment letters, much like how the country is going to be during Diwali.
Also present at the venue were Goa Minister of Tourism, Rohan Khaunte, BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and officers from Central Government departments.
