Minister Vishwajit Rane flags off Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra-Urban in Goa

Minister for Urban Development Shri Vishwajit Rane flagged off the Vikasit Sankalp Yatra (Urban) at a program held at Donal Paula today, 17th December, 2023. The yatra will travel through the Panaji Corporation and all the 13 municipalities in the State for 23 days, creating awareness among the public in the urban areas about the welfare schemes of the central government. The van will visit two locations a day, thus covering 46 locations in the State.

 

Addressing the gathering at the event, Shri Rane said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has implemented several schemes for the development of all sections of the society. “Various schemes have been implemented by Modi Government for the benefit of all people from spheres of life such as for fishermen, farmers, entrepreneurs etc.  There have been various schemes in the health sector also for various health screenings, cancer screening, sickle cell diseases etc. The Vikasit Bharat Yatra-Urban is meant to reach out to all the people in the urban areas with the information on all these schemes. So, all should make use of it,” he said. 

“Vikasit Bharat is a dream of our Prime Minister. We have to fully support the government to make our country developed by 2047,” the minister said.

Gurudas Pilarnekar, Director, Department of Urban Development, said that information regarding all the central government schemes will be disseminated during the yatra in all the urban local bodies.

Minister Rane and Gurudas Pilarnekar also took the pledge of Vikasit Bharat along with the gathering at the event.

Shri Raviraj Satape, Deputy Director, Doordarshan Panaji; Shri Tushar Jadhav, Deputy Director, All India Radio Panaji; Ms Karen Monteiro, Community Mobilizer, CCP; and Shri Balaji Kendre, Vice President, Feedback Foundation, also were present at the event.

Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15 from Khunti, Jharkhand, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra aims to create awareness among citizens about various welfare schemes and seek their participation in the spirit of “Jan Bhagidari” to ensure 100% saturation of schemes. It is the largest-ever outreach initiative of Government of India and will cover 2.60 lakh Gram Panchayats and 4000+ urban local bodies across the nation by January 25, 2024.

Addressing the nation virtually after flagging off the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the five states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram, on 16 December, the Prime Minister had reiterated the government’s commitment to social security for urban dwellers. He elaborated on the expanding security net for the people in the urban areas. Atal Pension Scheme has 6 crore subscribers ensuring 5 thousand rupees monthly pension after the age of 60. PM Suraksha Bima Yojana and Jeevan Jyoti Yojana are providing life cover up to 2 lakh rupees. Claims worth 17 thousand crore have already been settled under these schemes, he informed. He also talked about the AMRUT Mission And Smart City Mission, and PM SVANidhi Yojana along with the other schemes which are meant for the welfare of the urban population. He requested everyone to get registered with these schemes and strengthen their security shield.
