Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa; Shri Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Ports, Shipping and Waterways; and Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanawade, Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) attended the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with the beneficiaries of central government schemes from across the country, at Ucassaim panchayat hall, Bardez, today, 09 December, 2023. The event was held as part of the ongoing Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) which received warm welcome in the village panchayat. VBSY is being undertaken across the country to attain saturation of flagship schemes of the government by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner.
Addressing the gathering at the event, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the VBSY was being welcomed with huge enthusiasm by the people of Goa in all panchayats. “I am proud to say that the ‘Modi ki Guarantee ki Gadi’ is being welcomed by the people in all the nook and corners of Goa. I am sure the yatra will keep getting the same kind of reception in all the remaining villages. The yatra is intended to take the welfare schemes to the nook and corners of the country. I appreciate all the officers who are working very hard to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the last mile,” the Chief Minister said.
Union Minister of State for Tourism Shri Shripad Naik, while talking about the VBSY, said that the yatra is meant to create awareness among the public about the developmental works and welfare schemes brought out by the Modi government in the last 10 years. “The yatra is a beginning in the direction of making our country number one in the world. Today, the yatra reached the Ucassaim panchayat in Goa. Similarly, the ‘rath’ is visiting various village panchayats in the country. The yatra will visit all the panchayats in Goa, thus informing every person of the State about the benefits of government schemes. I appreciate all those who are working behind this campaign,” he said.
Praising the Prime Minister for launching the yatra, Shri. Sadanand Shet, MP, said that the yatra will help the public understand the benefits of the schemes and developments brought out by the Modi government. “If at all any beneficiary needs any further help regarding the schemes, all the officials of the concerned departments are here with the yatra. PM Modi’s motto is to take the benefits to the last mile. Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is his vision. If we want the country to be developed, the developmental schemes and benefits should reach the last person. That is what the yatra intends to do,” the MP said.
At the program, a VBSY pledge was taken by all the dignitaries and the other attendees. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of various competitions that were held as part of the ongoing VBSY. Earlier, a demonstration on the usage of drones for the benefits of farmers was held for the dignitaries and the public. A health camp was also organised as part of the event with the support of the Directorate of Health Services, government of Goa.
Thousands of VBSY beneficiaries from across the country virtually joined the nation-wide program. More than 2,000 VBSY vans, thousands of Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Common Service Centres, and panchayats from across the country were also connected during the program. A large number of Union ministers, MPs, MLAs and local-level representatives also joined the programme from different locations.
Prime Minister Modi, while interacting with beneficiaries via video conferencing, recalled his interaction with the beneficiaries and informed that more than 1.5 lakh beneficiaries have recorded their experiences during this journey. He mentioned the benefits of a permanent house, tapped water connection, toilet, free treatment, free ration, gas connection, electricity connection, bank account being opened, benefits under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Fasal Bima Yojna, PM Swanidhi Yojana, and PM Swamitva property cards among others. He noted that crores of families in villages across the country have received the benefit of some scheme of the government without having to visit any government office again and again. He underlined that the government identified the beneficiaries and then took steps to extend the benefits to them. “That is why people say, Modi Ki Guarantee means the guarantee of fulfillment”, he added.
“Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has become a great medium to reach the people who have not been able to connect with the government schemes till now”, the Prime Minister said, and added that the journey of VBSY has reached more than 40 thousand village panchayats and many cities in less than a month where more than 1.25 crore people have connected with ‘Modi ki Guarantee’ vehicle. He acknowledged the gratitude of the people for welcoming the ‘Modi ki Guarantee’ vehicle.
