As a tribute to the great mathematician, Srinivas Ramanujan, India celebrates his birthday – 22nd December, as National Mathematics Day. On this occasion, Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai is organizing programmes and activities for students, teachers and general visitors from 21st to 24th December, 2021. The programmes are catalyzed and supported by National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission, Government of Maharashtra. There will be no entry fee.

Programmes include:
- Workshop cum Exhibition of Mathematics Teaching Aids, Toys and Puzzles solving contests (puzzle activities like Mobius band, power of collaboration, square puzzle, soma cube puzzle, snake & ladder and more)
- Online Lectures on ‘Come fall in Love with Math’ by Associate Teaching Professor, IIT, Gandhinagar, Prof. Manish Jain; ‘Fascinating World of Mathematics: Some Interesting Applications’, by Professor & Director Amity School of Applied Sciences, Amity University, Dr A K Yadav
- Film screening of ‘The Genius of Srinivasan Ramanujan’ (English) by Vigyan Prasar
- Workshop on Origami for school students (topic – Mathematics of paper folding), Teaching Aids on Mathematics’
- Quiz on Mathematics Storytelling by Ms Usha Venkatraman on ‘The Genius of Srinivasan Ramanujan’
