The Draft National Policy for Women 2016, emphasises on mindset change through advocacy campaigns, multi-sectoral actions, awareness raising and community mobilization on the ground through programmes and schemes.
Targeted multi-media campaigns is one of the key operational strategies for the policy implementation.
Gender Sensitisation and non-discrimination in the portrayal of women has been envisaged to ensure that women are not represented in a demeaning or stereotypical manner.
Similarly, Social empowerment mechanisms have also been envisaged designed to create an enabling environment, which addresses their vulnerabilities, creates opportunities and improves their overall condition.
A Draft Policy has been prepared after considering suggestion/comments received from stakeholders etc.
