The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with a special event at the National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC). The day began with a flag hoisting ceremony led by Mr. Rajendra Singh, CEO of CBFC, Mr. D Ramakrishnan, GM of NFDC, and Mr. Mahesh Yadav, DGM of NFDC, along with esteemed guests, actress Chhaya Kadam and RJ Divya Solgama. The ceremony was attended by NFDC and CBFC staff, as well as museum visitors.

The guests were then honored by the CEO of CBFC and GM of NFDC. This was followed by a thought-provoking talk show featuring RJ Divya Solgama and Chhaya Kadam, who discussed the importance of financial independence for women and the broader significance of independence in everyday life. The event was hosted by Ms. Jayita Ghosh, Manager of NMIC.

A special prize was awarded to the best-dressed audience member, adding a festive touch to the celebration. Attendees also enjoyed a screening of the acclaimed film Laapataa Ladies.

In alignment with Ministry’s “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” initiative, the guests, along with the senior officials from NFDC and CBFC, participated in a tree plantation ceremony, symbolizing growth and sustainability. The event concluded with a guided tour of the museum, where the guests praised the NMIC as a “temple of films.”

The celebration was a memorable tribute to India’s independence, highlighting the importance of freedom and empowerment.
