National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai has organised a three-day Orientation Program to welcome 333 new entrants in Undergraduate (Design/Technology) and Post Graduate (Design Research/ Fashion Management) courses.
The 3-day orientation programme began today at the NIFT Campus Kharghar. On the first day, the formal function of the orientation programme was inaugurated by Campus Director Prof. Dr Pawan Godiawala, Ex-Dean Prof. Dr Sharmila Dua, Joint Director, Mr Khusal Junagade and Campus Academic Co-ordinator Prof. Dr Sushil Raturi.
The campus Director, Prof. Dr Pawan Godiawala, congratulated all freshers of NIFT Mumbai. Addressing the students and parents, Director Mumbai spoke about NIFT’s time-tested teaching pedagogy, which ensures to discover their identity. Dr Pawan Godiawala said ‘NIFT equips them to hone their professional skills by encouraging them to explore new avenues’. He mentioned that NIFT Mumbai is committed to academic excellence and the vision of the institute provides a strong foundation to foster its aspirants.
During the day, a Cyber Jagrukta session was organised for the students conducted by Shri Sagar Gawasane, API, Cyber Crime Cell, Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate. Shri Sagar Gawasane discussed about online financial and social media frauds and gave insight on how to prevent these frauds.
The Joint Director and Controller of Examinations NIFT Mumbai shared with the students an overview of the examination procedures. The Campus Academic Coordinator introduced the academic structure of NIFT.
The students took a Campus tour and visited their respective departments to get an overview of their departments.
