Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) MD Punit Goenka has been elected as the president of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF).
He will replace Star India CEO Uday Shankar.
Goenka was elected as the foundation’s president at the meeting of IBF Board of Directors following the 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the foundation held in New Delhi.
The IBF Board also elected India TV chairman Rajat Sharma, Sony Pictures Network CEO NP Singh, Viacom 18 Group CEO Sudhanshu Vats, Asianet Communications MD K. Madhavan as vice-presidents.
NDTV Executive Vice-Chairperson KVL Narayan Rao was elected as the treasurer of the foundation for a period of one year.
Indian Broadcasting Foundation established in 1999 is India’s premium apex organization of television broadcasters.
IBF promotes the interests of the Indian Television Industry, making an essential and ever-increasing contribution to the Nation and working as a clearing house of ideas for this vast and rapidly growing industry.
IBF consists of major broadcasters with more than 250 TV Channels.
