Release of state funds for Uttarakhand


The Department of Fisheries is implementing a flagship scheme namely Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) at an investment of Rs. 20,050 crore over a period of 5 years from Fy 2020-21 to Fy 2024-25 under which assistance is provided on the shared basis to fish farmers/entrepreneurs for taking up enterprises relating to fish production, storage and marketing and such other ancillary activities such as hatcheries, feed mill etc. Accordingly, annual action plans/proposals are called from the States and based on suitability, these are approved and Central funds are released to the States. State-wise status of projects approved and funds released to States/UTs is given in Annexure-I. PMMSY also has provision to support larger projects being a combination of various activities under entrepreneurship model for which subsidy up to Rs.1.5 crore can be provided. No proposal has been received from Uttarakhand State. State-wise list of approved entrepreneurs with Project outlay is given in Annexure-II.

As regards issues to increase entrepreneurial skill of beneficiaries, the Department of Fisheries in collaboration with National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NIMSME) has provided training to improve the skills of entrepreneurs by imparting training and capacity building to the selected entrepreneurs during 23rd to 25th February, 2022. Besides, through various Institutes, 15 days training programme on Entrepreneurship Development in Fisheries is provided to the interested participants in various States. Further periodic training & awareness is imparted through PMMSY by various ICAR Institutes, State Universities and Institutes & KVKs to upgrade skills including entrepreneurial skills/ exposure visits/market visits are also undertaken.
