- Yesterday, Heat Wave Conditions observed in some pockets over East Rajasthan and in isolated pockets over northwest Rajasthan, South Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha and north Madhya Pradesh.
- Maximum Temperature Departures as on 06-04-2021: Maximum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and East Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over West Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch, West Uttar Pradesh and Tamilnadu; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and Vidarbha; at many places over Gujarat region, Konkan & Goa, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Madhya Maharshtra, Marathwada and North Interior Karnataka; at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Kerala & Mahe.They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffrabad and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 44.0°C was reported at Banda (East Uttar Pradesh) over the country.
- Minimum Temperature Departures as on 07-04-2021: Minimum temperatures are markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Uttrakhand; at a few places over West Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over West Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over North Interior Karnataka; at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Odisha; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim. They are appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Telangana; below normal (-1.6°C to-3.0°C) at a few places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and near normal over rest parts of the country. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 14.6°C reported at Amritsar (Punjab) over the plains of the country.
Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0830 hours IST)
- The Western Disturbance now seen as a cyclonic circulation over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level with a trough aloft in mid & upper tropospheric levels with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along longitude 72°E to the north of latitude 32°N.
- The induced cyclonic circulation over Punjab & neighbourhood now lies over West Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.
♦ A trough in westerlies runs roughly along longitude 85°E to the north of latitude 22°N at 2.1 km above mean sea level.
- The cyclonic circulation over Comorin Area & neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The trough now runs from the above cyclonic circulation over Comorin area & neighbourhood to North Interior Karnataka and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.
- A cyclonic circulation lies over South Andaman Sea and adjoining North Sumatra coast and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.
♦ A cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand & adjoining North Chhattisgarh between 0.9 &1.5 km above mean sea level.
- A cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Rajasthan & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
- A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from the night of 10th April.
- The trough in westerlies roughly along longitude 89°E to the north of latitude 25°N at 3.1 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
- The cyclonic circulation over north Andaman Sea & adjoining south Myanmar coast extending upto
0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
