SOUTHERN COMMAND OF INDIAN ARMY CONDUCTS SWIFT AIR EVACUATION AT LAKHI VILLAGE, DHARASHIV DISTRICT

In response to an urgent requisition from the Civil Administration, the Indian Army launched a swift and coordinated flood relief operation at Lakhi Village, Paranda Taluka, Dharashiv District, following incessant rains over the last two days that completely inundated the area.

Twelve residents were reported stranded on the rooftop of a structurally weak house, with immediate danger to life. Acting without delay, Army Aviation helicopters from the Thar Raptors Brigade were deployed despite adverse weather conditions. Demonstrating exceptional skill and resolve, Army pilots successfully evacuated 27 stranded citizens from the affected area, bringing them to safety.

This operation once again underscores the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and extending timely humanitarian assistance. With speed, precision, and seamless coordination with the Civil Administration, the Army continues to stand as a pillar of strength for citizens in times of natural calamities.
