Mumbai/New Delhi, 9 February 2022
Ministry of Textiles has been providing subsidy support to textile industry, including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and small textile manufacturing units across the country including Maharashtra through schemes such as Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS) and PowerTex India.
Under Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, the Ministry has granted Capital Investment Subsidy (CIS) for technology upgradation @ 15% for garmenting and technical textiles segments with a cap of Rs. 30 crores. CIS has been given @ 10% for weaving, processing, jute, silk and handloom segments with a cap of Rs. 20 crores. These subsidies have been given to individual entities, for implementation during the period January 2016 to March 2022.
Under PowerTex India Scheme, assistance has been given for in situ upgradation, yarn bank scheme and work shed projects for strengthening decentralized powerloom sector during April 2017 to March 2021.
A total assistance of Rs. 314.80 crores under ATUFS and Rs. 40.51 crores under PowerTex India have been provided to textile units in Maharashtra during the above period.
