The National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) proudly presents a special screening of the cult classic “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” on Sunday, July 30, at 11 am. As part of the Chronicles of Timeless Treasures Initiative, this event aims to celebrate the illustrious heritage of Indian cinema by bringing back this iconic satirical comedy that has captivated audiences for decades.
Released in 1983, “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” is a masterpiece directed by Kundan Shah, who brilliantly crafted a humorous yet thought-provoking narrative. The movie follows the journey of two struggling photographers, portrayed by acclaimed actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Baswani, as they find themselves entangled in a web of corruption and deceit. Through its impeccable ensemble cast, which includes renowned talents like Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, and Satish Shah, the film ingeniously satirizes societal issues, leaving a lasting impact on its viewers.
The story revolves around the innocent duo’s misadventures as they stumble upon a scandal involving the corrupt and powerful. The event is open to all museum visitors, and admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis.
