Union Minister Narayan Rane inaugurated the National Seminar cum Exhibition on “Scope for Growth and Development of MSMEs” at Kankavali, Sindhudurg

Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises today inaugurated the National Seminar cum Exhibition on “Scope for Growth and Development of MSMEs” at Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Maharashtra.  Shri B.B. Swain, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Shri D. Kuppuramu, Chairman, Coir Board, Shri Nitesh Rane, MLA-Kankavli and Dr Milind Kamble, Chairman, DICCI were present on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering Shri Narayan Rane appealed youths to be in the industry. He said, ‘Be a job giver than job seeker’.  That with active participation from all stakeholders, the MSME Sector can become vibrant and the engine of growth for Indian economy. The Minister highlighted the efforts of the government in promoting MSME sector. The National seminar will spread the awareness about the MSME Schemes and will motivate youth to take up entrepreneurship and will strengthen the commitment towards ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.

Shri Rane met various MSME exhibitors in the exhibition, where different MSMEs are showcasing their products in different sectors viz textiles, herbals, leather and coir products among others. During the event, certificates were distributed to Informal Micro enterprises assisted under Udyam Assist Portal, SC/ST beneficiaries under National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH). Charkha and Looms were also distributed to newly formed Khadi Institution, Jansmaruddhi Khadi Gramodyog Sanstha, Sindhudurg. Presentation on MSME Schemes were given by Dr Ishita Ganguly Tripathi, Additional Development Commissioner and Ms Mercy. Epao, Joint Secretary and CMD, NSIC, Ministry of MSME.

 During the Vendor Development programme various PSUs and organisations such as Mazgaon Dockyard, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Department of Atomic Energy, Konkan Railway, Goa Shipyard, GeM, The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) were participated.
