Union Minister of State for Law and Justice and Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Shripad Naik today visited the site of AYUSH Hospital and MOPA Airport at Pernem, Goa. Shri S P Singh Baghel is on an official visit to Goa as part of celebrations of 8 years of the government.
Shri Baghel expressed happiness and congratulated the people of Goa for the state of art AYUSH Hospital. Shri Baghel said that with the efforts of Shripad Naik the then Union Minister of AYUSH, Goa is witnessing such a reputed institute in the state of Goa.
Shripad Naik on this occasion thanked the Prime Minister for giving the responsibility of the then newly formed AYUSH MINISTRY. He said the hospital will be beneficial for the overall development of Goa. The first phase of the hospital will be inaugurated in the next 3-4 months, he informed.
The AYUSH institute is the extension of All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi. The 250 bedded hospital will also cater 500 students every year offering undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees. Ayurveda has a 100 bed facility and Naturopathy with 150 bed capacity. Yoga department with facility of Diabetic Clinic, Cardiac Care Unit including Yoga therapy room for 30 patients. Institute includes a Medical College for Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Yoga which has a hostel facility for 67 rooms for doctors and 91 rooms for 182 students. The cost of the project is Rs 301 crore. The Institute will be managed with the trained and qualified doctors and staff.
Both the ministers also visited the MOPA Airport site. The detailed presentation on ongoing work given on this occasion by GMR group. It is informed by the airport that the greenfield airport will start operations from September 1, 2022. Union Minister Shri Baghel asked airport authorities to consider Agra-Goa connectivity to boost tourism.
