Union Minster for Information and Broadcasting Sh.Anurag Thakur expressed goverment's concern on increasing obscenity and abusive language on the OTT platform

Union Minster of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur addressed a ‘Meet the Press’ event organized by Nagpur Press Club today.  Speaking to those gathered Union Minister Anurag Thakur expressed  concern on increasing obscenity and abusive language on OTT platforms.  “Abusive language in the name of creativity will not be tolerated”, said the minister as he stated that the Ministry will bring an amendment to the rules governing such platforms if such a need is felt.


Anurag Thakur who is also Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports informed that 1,000 Khelo India centers will be started across the country by August 15 of this year , out of which 945 centers have already been given approval. The Minister while 
 speaking about the infrastructure development  informed that 10 lakh crores has been allocated for capital investment in this year’s budget . He further elaborated that a fund of 3797 crores has been given to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in this year’s budget .  

Union Minister Anurag Thakur also said that  new records  are  being set in the Khelo India Games and big sports events  are being organized across the country. Athletes are being encouraged through the organization of Saansad Khel Mahakumbh Tournaments, he added. 

Union Minister Anurag Thakur while informing about Government schemes available to players , said that  Sports Authority of India, centres of Khelo India, Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) support the country’s talented athletes to prepare for the Olympics and Asian Games.  There are 23 National Centers of Excellence with state-of-the-art facilities.  Lodging, boarding facilities are available in such centres, minister added.
