The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has greeted the people on the eve of Id-ul-Zuha. Following is the full text of his message-
“I extend my warm greetings to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of ‘Id-ul-Zuha’.
Celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety, Id-ul-Zuha epitomises the spirit of sacrifice and devotion to God. It is an occasion to ‘share & care’ and show compassion towards the needy and poor.
I hope the festival will strengthen the spirit of unity and brotherhood in society by bringing people closer to one another.
May the noble ideals associated with Id-ul-Zuha enrich our lives with peace and harmony, and bring prosperity to our country. “
Following is the Hindi text of the message:
” मैं ‘ईद-उल-जु़हा’ के पावन अवसर पर अपने देशवासियों को हार्दिक बधाई और शुभकामनाएँ देता हूँ।
पारंपरिक श्रद्धा और उल्लास के साथ मनाया जाने वाला कुर्बानी का त्यौहार ‘ईद-उल-जु़हा‘ ईश्वर के प्रति परम भक्ति का प्रतीक है।
यह लोगों को अपनी भावनाओं को साझा करने एवं एक दूसरे का ध्यान रखने तथा जरूरतमंद एवं गरीब लागों के प्रति संवेदना प्रकट करने का अवसर प्रदान करता है।
मैं आशा करता हूँ कि यह त्यौहार समाज में एकता और भाईचारे की भावना को सुदृढ़ करेगा और लोग एक दूसरे के और करीब आएंगे।
मैं कामना करता हूँ कि ईद-उल-जु़हा से जुड़े उत्कृष्ट आदर्शों से हमारे जीवन में शांति और सद्भाव बढ़ेगा तथा हमारे देश में समृद्धि आएगी।”
