Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Textiles, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution, Shri Piyush Goyal has urged the youth to innovate by finding solutions to India’s problems and leave behind a lasting legacy.
Delivering the Convocation Speech at the Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune today, Shri Goyal said the world is looking up to India as a land of opportunities as well as for leadership India is providing in different fields from skilled labour to education and health. “In every respect each one of us is fortunate to be living here and now that we can make a difference to the world,” he added
During his Convocation Address the Minister encouraged the students to explore new opportunities and experiment with new ideas. “Think out of the box! Today the doors are open to new ideas, to entrepreneurship,” he said to the students.
The Minister also shared his experience of an interaction with a group of youngsters whose idea was to control accidents caused because of high-beam headlights in vehicles. He mentioned that the idea might sound simple but the solution it provides can prevent accidents or even save lives.
Shri Goyal also shared several examples of startups finding solutions to simple challenges and in the process becoming successful as Unicorns “a simple idea or solution can become seed for a Start-up” he added
The Minister also spoke how New Education Policy is set on these lines that it kindles students to think differently. “New Education Policy provides each one the encouragement to experiment and to look at new ideas,” he said.
Shri Goyal paid homage to Dr. Patangrao Kadam, the founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth. He fondly recalled the vibrant nature of Dr. Kadam and his desire to experiment with new ideas.
“I urge you all to take part in the future of the nation. I urge you to make the hard choices not easy ones. Leave behind a lasting legacy like Dr. Kadam,” he said to the students.
The Minister also lauded the contribution of the institution during the COVID-19 Pandemic. “I compliment you for the recognition received from Indian Army and Health Ministry for the work done by your doctors and institutions and also for the support in developing the first DNA vaccine in India.”
