Andhra Pradesh became the second state after Gujarat to declare all its municipalities Open Defecation Free (ODF) under the ‘Swachh Bharat’ initiative and earned an incentive of Rs 185.97 crore from the Centre.
Under Swachh Bharat, 3.3 lakh individual toilets were built in rural areas of the state and another 1.6 lakh in urban areas in the last two years. Besides, 6,030 community toilets were also constructed.
