China Expresses Concern About BrahMos

China’s defence ministry has expressed serious concerns about India’s the plan to equip regiments deployed on the China border with the BrahMos missile.

Deploying Brahmos, a short-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile with a operational rage of 290km to 300km, on the India – China border comes as a daring move by government of India.

China has been provoking and engaging itself in border conflicts in both western and eastern sector of the border.

With increasing threat from Chines armed forces at the eastern bordering around Arunachal Pradesh the present government seemed to have taken up the challenge head on to engage chines in a more effective way and hence India has deployed supersonic missiles on the border has exceeded its own needs for self-defense and poses a serious threat to China’s Tibet and Yunnan provinces.

Deploying BrahMos missile is bound to increase competitiveness and confrontation in Sino-Indian relations and bring a negative influence to stability of the region.

Indian Army has already tested Brahmos missile near McMohan line and it is capable of hitting the enemy targets in the tough mountain region within seconds.

India says China occupies 38,000 sq km (14,600 sq miles) of its territory on the Aksai Chin plateau in the west.

China lays claim to more than 90,000 sq km (35,000 sq miles) ruled by India in the eastern sector of the Himalayas.

India is also suspicious of China’s support for its arch-rival, Pakistan.

During the UPA regime in the year 2010, Indian army deployed Mountain Strike Corps to counter Chinese antagonism at the border. However they proved futile.
