The Telangana government announced that popular poet, writer and singer Goreti Venkanna will be given the Kaloji Narayana Rao award for this year.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1,01,116 and a citation.
Last year, the award was presented to well-known writer Ammangi Venugopal.
