Military Stations are established on the basis of various factors including strategic, operational and security requirements.
Some of them are located in and around cities / towns having a population of more than five lakhs. The disclosure of details of their locations would not be in the interest of national security.
However, the following 19 Cantonments are located in and around cities / towns with population of more than five lakhs (as per 2011 Census):
