RBI Monetary Policy Unit Gets New Head

Deputy RBI governor R Gandhiwas was given the charge of the monetary policy department, including forecasting and modeling unit, which was earlier under governor Urjit Patel.

The deputy governor handling the monetary policy department is likely to be nominated to Monetary Policy Committee. The panel will have three members appointed by the government, besides RBI governor and one more person from the central bank.

Deputy guv S S Mundra will look after banking supervision, human resource, financial inclusion and development, statistics.
