Sai Praneeth Won Singapore Open Tournament

World No.30 Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth won his maiden Super Series title at the Singapore Open after defeating compatriot K Srikanth in finals.

The Singapore Open is an badminton event that has been held in Singapore annually since 1987, and which is now part of the BWF Super Series tournament that began 2007.

Praneeth, who had won the Canada Open Grand Prix last year and reached the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold final this year beat Srikanth in the summit clash of the $350,000 event.

It was the first time in the history of international badminton that two Indians were playing a Super Series final.
