Lalji Singh, former Director, the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), has been selected for the award of SERB Distinguished Fellow.
It is given by the Science and engineering Research Board (SERB) which is a statutory body of the Government of India.
The award supports research of scientists who are active and performing even after superannuation. The award has been given in recognition of Lalji Singh, also a former VC of BHU for his continued outstanding performance and also for mentorship young researchers. It carries an amount of Rs. 60,000 a month and a research grant of Rs. 5 lakh a year for a period of three years.
