Shri Sitaram Kedilaya met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the successful completion of Bharat Parikrama Padyatra undertaken by him.
Shri Kedilaya had embarked on the Bharat Parikrama Yatra on 9th August 2012 from Kanyakumari and completed the journey at Kanyakumari on 9th July this year.
In the course of the Yatra, Shri Kedilaya had reached out directly to 9000 villages. The message of the Yatra indirectly touched an additional 20,000 villages. He interacted with lakhs of farmers and rural youth in course of the Yatra.
The Prime Minister appreciated Shri Kedilaya’s effort and wished him well for his future endeavour.
Shri Sitarama Kedilaya, had avowed to undertake ‘Bharat Parikrama’ (A geographical journey in Bharat or India) after being relieved of his responsibility in Sangh’s Seva Vibhag. His began his tour after obtaining the darshan of Sripada Rock Memorial in Kanyakumariand since then had been walking everyday on barefoot and covered the Western Ghats, western coastline, the western land border up to Kashmir and the northern border areas.
This humongous effort of Sitaram is not just to walk barefoot and create yet another world record.
During this tour he has intermingled with the villagers and has educated them as to how they can live a life based on the unity of cattle, village and nature according to the eternal and ever evolving culture of Bharat, even during the conditions faced today.
He has also guided many villages to implement lifestyles based on Dharmic principles of truth and virtue.
