To give tribute to Mother Teresa’s sainthood, a four-day film festival depicting her life and work got underway at the U Soso Tham auditorium in Shillong (Meghalya).
The Mother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF), 2016 was started in Kolkata on August 26.
The festival, which celebrates the canonization of Teresa, will end in Shillong and then move on to Jowai (Meghalya) where it will be held from September 14 to 17.
Twenty films, documentaries and short films showcasing the global icon’s pioneering work will be screened at the festival which will travel to different cities in India and to 50 other countries.
The festival opened with Mother Teresa and Me, a film made by Gautam Lewis who was raised by Saint Teresa in Kolkata after his parents abandoned him when he was an infant.
