National Green Tribunal constitutes Committee to tackle solid waste problem in Delhi. The Committee includes National pollution control board, national capital territory representatives, a DDA and MCD member each, DG health and four independent members.

For five days now, the smell of rotting garbage has lingered over the most densely populated area in East Delhi. The stink is now threatening to spread across Delhi. North Delhi MCD sanitation workers are threatening join the strike called by their East Delhi counterparts.
Doctors, teachers and engineers of the EDMC are also awaiting salaries since October. The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has hired private contractors as a stopgap, but it has done little to help.
