Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari today emphasised the need for reducing construction cost of houses, so that they can be available at affordable price.
Speaking at 40th annual general meeting of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI), Pune Metro , he suggested to adopt
latest technology without compromising on quality to built houses for the people.
Maharashta Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Mr. Gadkari said that considering the increasing pollution in Pune, there is a need to focus at outskirts to develope a new Pune. He said that Smart Village concept will be more suitable in future.
He also pointed out for research to reduce the cost of constructions of houses and to use new technologies in the materials used for construction.Reduction in the use of traditional materials such as steel and cement and increase in the use of alternative materials is required and CREDAI should take an initiative and start an independent research institute, he added.
Gadkari also said that instead of building large houses costing more than 1 crore rupees , priority should be given to construct the houses that the middle class can afford.
CREDAI National President Boman Irani , Pune President Ranjit Naiknaware and other degnitiries were present on the occasion.
