World Rabies Day Observed

World Rabies Day is observed on 28th September. The day is celebrated to aware about rabies prevention and to highlight progress in defeating this horrifying disease.

The day also marks anniversary of Louis Pasteur’s death, the French chemist and microbiologist, who developed the first rabies vaccine.

The theme for 2016 is “Rabies- Educate, Vaccinate, Eliminate”.

In India, the treatment of rabies is in thousands and it is unbearable for common man.
